The first Monday in May is here, meaning the Met Gala is just hours away!

She traded her sunny California look for a more classic NY appearance upon her arrival.

The Met Gala, formally known as the Costume Institute Benefit, is always chaired by a team of high-wattage celebrities, and this year is no exception.

Camp is often over-the-top, with Sondag presenting "Swan Lake", Tiffany Lamps, King Kong and Art Nouveau as examples.

Previous themes have ranged from "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" to "China: Through the Looking Glass" and have inspired numerous, memorable celebrity outfits. "The whole appeal of watching the Met Gala red carpet arrivals is to suss out the attendees" outrageously fabulous getups, so why not fun with it, we say!

However, according to 10 Daily, the invite list being circulated is actually not the guest list, but the list of the host committee, a list of 183 people chosen by Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

There are still 17 races to go in this Formula 1 season, but already it is hard to see how Ferrari can make a fight of the championship.

A woman after our own hearts, Gaga has been too busy to worry too much about her appearance at the 2019 Met Gala, admitting she hasn't shaved her legs for four days in the lead up to the red carpet. Not only do tickets start at $30,000 with tables going for $300,000, but Empress Wintour, who will most likely be wearing Chanel, has to approve you for the guest list.

The Met Gala is not televised, except for the carpet.

The museum's exhibition is based on 'Notes on Camp, ' an essay written in 1964 by American author Susan Sontag.

The interpretation of this theme is so open-ended that is certain costumes will be all over the map-literally.

'In the end, the objective of camp is to put a smile on our faces and a warm glow in our hearts'.

Items on display include a TV dinner cape by Jeremy Scott emblazoned with carrots, peas and mashed potatoes, and Bjork's famous "swan dress" from the Oscars.

'Camp tends to come to the fore in moments of social and political instability.
