Windows 10 now automatically uninstalls b0rked updates

13 March 2019

You must be a Windows Insider in the Fast ring to receive the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18356 (19H1) with Android app mirroring. Specifically, if a Windows Update is preventing your PC from booting, then it may automatically roll back the faulty update.

We removed some recently installed updates to recover your device from a startup failure.

Other problems with this update include authentication issues with Internet Explorer 11 (although you shouldn't be using that outdated browser anyway) and an error "1309" which appears when installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.

Microsoft first introduced its Your Phone app late past year, and Windows Insiders running a 19H1 build can now try out a brand new feature - screen mirroring. The company writes that these updates and patches "keep your device secure and running at peak efficiency", but they occasionally run into incompatibility issues.

As the latest version of Windows 10, the October 2018 Update (version 1809) is getting its own cumulative update, and this month, users are provided with KB4489899.

This isn't the first time a seemingly innocent Windows 10 patch has caused sudden drops in performance, and its unlikely that this issue only affects desktops. Now Windows will go a step further to help users out of an update pickle. At the end of the period, Windows will try to install the updates again. A notification will pop up letting you know if an update has failed and been reverted, just in case the additional reboot didn't already give it away.

Bills fire back as Antonio Brown saga takes latest ugly turn
It should only get harder for the Steelers to find a taker for Brown now that the All-Pro receiver has flexed his muscles. The Bills' Brandon Beane said that the team's attention had turned to free agency , and apparently that was that.
