Bollywood CELEBRATES the glorious return of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman in India

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has been transported to the Wagah Border ahead of his repatriation to India.

The pilot's fate has become pivotal to efforts to resolve the most serious military confrontation in the region since the two countries last went to war in 1999.

The situation then escalated further with Wednesday's aerial skirmish, which saw Pakistan say it shot down two Indian aircraft, one of which crashed in Pakistan-held part of Kashmir and the other in India-controlled Kashmir.

Citing figures compiled by the Institute for worldwide and Strategic Studies, Al Jazeera reported Thursday that India had 3,565 battle tanks, 3,100 infantry fighting vehicles, 336 armored personnel carriers and 9,719 pieces of artillery against Pakistan's 2,496 tanks, 1,605 armored personnel carriers, and 4,472 artillery guns, including 375 self-propelled howitzers.
