Trump and his legal team met Monday to answer Mueller's questions

15 November 2018

Corsi met with Mueller's team for the first time on September 7 after receiving a subpoena for the same on August 28.

Mueller has been requesting interviews with former employees and friends of Roger Stone, the veteran Republican operative, asking them about Stone's ties to Russian Federation and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

But there are other issues that have not been resolved, including answering questions about obstruction and whether the President will sit down for an interview with special counsel.

In recent weeks, ABC News reported that Corsi returned to Washington, D.C., again for more closed-door meetings with special counsel investigators, and was scheduled to make a second appearance before the federal grand jury in the probe.

American intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian agents were the source of hacked material released by WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign. Everyone should know that, and I'm anticipating it'. "Now, I'm going to have to go to prison the rest of my life because I dared to oppose the deep state".

Mueller's team has questioned Corsi and the conservative commentator recently claimed that he is about to be indicted by the special counsel.

"But I'm gonna be criminally charged", he said.

President Trump's legal team is finalizing answers to written questions from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and could submit them as soon as the end of this week, two sources familiar with the matter told Fox News on Tuesday.

Corsi, a former Washington bureau chief for the far-right website Infowars.com, claimed he was the victim of a "perjury trap" and may have inadvertently made a false statement during an estimated 40 hours of questioning by prosecutors over six sessions.

"I stand by my statement to the House Intelligence Committee and can prove it is truthful if need be", said Stone.

Corsi's lawyer, David Gray, didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Monday night. But in the two years since Trump's victory, Stone has walked back those claims and said his "backchannel" was merely NY radio host Randy Credico sharing information about his interviews with Assange.

Trump only publicly acknowledged awareness of the payments after his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, said in April on Fox News that Trump paid Cohen back for the costs associated with the Stormy Daniels deal.

Mueller's office has been relatively quiet in the lead-up to the midterm elections.

Stone's critics have alleged that the tweet showed that he had prior knowledge of Wikileaks' plans to release Podesta's emails, but Stone has said that his tweet was a reference to research done by Corsi on John and his brother Tony's lobbying work.
