As was previously reported by TMZ, Bill Cosby was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault this spring against former Temple University employee Andrea Constand - an incident that occurred inside his Philadelphia home in January 2004.

Bill Cosby victim Andrea Constand, who's led the charge against the disgraced comedian, submitted a victim-impact statement at Cosby's sentencing on Monday.

Cosby showed no visible reaction to the sentence, which was close to the maximum that could be imposed. "Because Constand's case is one of the few to fall within the statute of limitations, her trial is informally considered a representation of the large number of Cosby accusers".

But following his retrial this year, it took just 14 hours of deliberation for the new jury to convict him on three counts of sexual assault (which were merged into one count during sentencing). Cosby was led away from the courtroom in handcuffs and will begin serving his prison sentence immediately.

Cosby could have served a 30-year sentence, as each of his crimes would result in 10 years of imprisonment.

Monday's sentencing came as Cosby's defense team has accused O'Neill of bias and asked him to remove himself from the case - and to reverse an order that allowed the trial to happen in the first place.

The Associated Press characterizes the "sexually violent predator" designation as "a modern-day scarlet letter that subjects him to monthly counseling for the rest of his life and requires that neighbors and schools be notified of his whereabouts".

During the sentencing hearing, it was expected defense attorneys pointed to Cosby's age - he is 81 - declining health, and the fact that this is his first criminal conviction to try and persuade the judge to offer a shorter sentence.

At one point when providing his description of himself, Leonard even burst out into laughter, which surprised basically everyone. Leonard, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, was traded to the Raptors on July 18 by the San Antonio Spurs .

The jurors spent 12 days hearing lawyers' arguments and testimony from witnesses, including Constand and five other women, who claimed they were also drugged and sexually assaulted by the comedian.

"The suggestion that Mr. Cosby is risky is not supported by anything other than the frenzy", Green said, as demonstrators gathered outside the courthouse.

He says this calls for state prison time, also noting the Cosbys hosted a party with a band at their Elkins Park home while Cosby was on house arrest awaiting sentencing.

Cosby has been on house arrest-not waiting in jail where he belongs-since his conviction in April of this year.

A judge has ruled that Bill Cosby is a "sexually violent predator".

She says the Cosby team's subsequent attacks on her character left her with "insurmountable stress and anxiety".

In her victim statement, Andrea wrote, "Bill Cosby took my attractive, healthy young spirit and crushed it. I had to watch Cosby make jokes and attempt to degrade and diminish me, while his lawyers belittled and sneered at me".

"Three blue pills. And he put his hand out and I said, 'What are those?' And he said, 'They'll help you relax, '" Constand recalled to NBC's Kate Snow.
