Gianfranco Zola returns to Chelsea as Maurizio Sarri's assistant

19 July 2018

Former Chelsea and Italy striker Gianfranco Zola has returned to Stamford Bridge as assistant to new manager Maurizio Sarri. I'm not that interested in it.

Rumor has it that owner Roman Abramovich and club president Bruce Buck will play hardball with Florentino Perez and the Real Madrid board.

Belgium's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois reacts after Belgium's forward Eden Hazard scored during their Russian Federation 2018 World Cup play-off for third place football match between Belgium and England at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Saint Petersburg on July 14, 2018.

"It would be great to be successful with Maurizio and for the club and I will give my best, as I did in the past as a player, so I will give my best in my new position".

"I know it will be very hard and here we have the strongest coaches in the world and the strongest players in the world".

"But we are talking about two very high level players".

The 36-year-old would be an experienced player to have in the side and he would know more about the club than most of the current first-team players.

In his first news conference as Blues head coach, Sarri suggested the difference in styles would mean a period of adjustment for the players.

GoFundMe campaign set up to get Kylie Jenner to 1 billion dollars
The idea that she is a "self-made" very rich young woman has earned Forbes some ridicule, but that's a whole different story . Included in the said issue of Forbes Magazine is an article detailing how Kylie Jenner has made millions at such a young age.

'I am very much looking forward to the challenge in general.

There have been some concerns about how prepared the squad would be for the new season, Sarri said it is important that they begin to work on implementing his style of football.

Hazard has also previously said he would wait for clarity over the future of former boss Antonio Conte before making a decision over his future.

Despite having won no silverware Sarri was named Serie A coach for the 2016/17 season and has praised Conte for what he had achieved in his two year spell at the club.

He added: "It will take some time to build a different way of playing". Russian billionaire Abramovich has been in dispute with United Kingdom authorities over the lack of a visa renewal. "Then during the season we'll see whether or not we want to have more specific objectives".

I hope so. A lot depends on the players.

"This is a post-World Cup time", said Sarri.

I want to meet face to face, talk and understand what the best thing is for everyone.
