Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Peter Phillips, Autumn Phillips, Isla Phillips and Savannah Phillips on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The new Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle appeared for the first time on the balcony at Buckingham Palace as the royal family marked the Queen's birthday.

Princess Charlotte was born in 2015, she isWills and Kate's second child after Prince George.

Meghan will undertake her first official engagement with the Queen next week when she joins Her Majesty on the royal train for a visit to Cheshire, in north-west England.

Princess Charlotte, for her part, matched her mom's ice-blue Alexander McQueen gown and Juliette Botterill hat in the same sailor-collared flower-print dress she donned on her visit to the hospital to meet little brother Louis back in April, adding a red bow for flair.

Despite the fact that it was her debut Trooping the Colour, Meghan didn't seem fazed by the flag-bearing crowds and was guided through the day by Prince Harry who could be seen talking her through the event.

Bringing Prince Harry's new bride along with her is a "is a really positive sign of favour, encouragement and endorsement by the Queen", Robert Lacey, historical consultant for Netflix's "The Crown", tells People.

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who celebrates his 97th birthday tomorrow, has retired from official public duties and is not expected to attend.

The actor talked to ET and revealed why the new royal couple is the flawless pair.

The ceremony has taken place for more than 250 years.

So while Meghan stood in the front row to watch the Queen and royal colonels (Charles, William, Andrew and Anne) return to the palace with their troops, she took a more protected position during the longer, most famous part of the balcony tradition: the flypast by the Royal Air Force. Markle's appearance comes exactly three weeks after the actress' spectacular wedding to Prince Harry in a ceremony that was watched by millions around the world.

Buckingham Palace tweeted that she had only missed one such event during her reign, and that was in 1955 during the country's general strike.

Before the ceremony, Lall said he was "quite proud" of himself and knew other people were proud of him as well.
