I'm not done yet! - Durant display not his 'defining moment'

08 June 2018

The Warriors star blew the Cleveland Cavaliers away in OH, scoring 43 points and recording 13 rebounds to secure a 110-102 victory and a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

A historic 51-point Game 1 performance from LeBron James wasn't enough to top the defending champions, and Game 2 showcased just how hard it is to beat a team with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson all shooting the lights out.

Late in the game, Durant called for the ball on numerous occasions, clearly looking to seal the win. The Cavaliers opted to trap Curry from the opening tip, and the Warriors countered by working the ball into Durant at the midpost and letting him go to work one-on-one. He has taken Cleveland to the NBA Finals now five times, and this now looks certain to be his fourth loss in those. "There's not really much pressure on them".

Durant's dagger - a pull-up 3-pointer from the left wing - increased Golden State's lead from three points to six points, all but sealing the victory, and was eerily similar to the clutch 3-pointer he drilled in Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals, when he put the Warriors ahead for good with 45 seconds left.

French Open 2018: Rafa Nadal marches past Maximilian Marterer and into quarterfinals
Nadal's last win after losing the opening set came against Novak Djokovic in the 2014 final. When they return to the stadium, Nadal will be serving at 5-3, 30-15 in the second set.

Curry has been the Warriors best player, leading them in points and assists in both Games 1 and 2. You make mistakes. They make you pay. He also came within three assists of a triple-double (13 rebounds and seven assists).

As the Warriors moved one huge step closer to their third title in four years, the Cavaliers understood that no team has come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA Finals. They play Game 4 in Cleveland on Friday. The Cavs simply don't have the horsepower to hang for 48 minutes, and when you're down 0-3 in the series, you're now battling the fact guys check out. In nine home games, James is averaging an absurd 38.1 points per game, while shooting just over 40 per cent from beyond the arc. Curry continued to struggle to find his shot and Durant began to shoot wildly in an attempt to shoulder the load.

While Kevin Durant and Kendrick Perkins are no longer plying their trades on the same team, it seems they haven't lost any of their camaraderie from their time in Oklahoma City. I'll wake up Friday morning, I'll be locked in on the game plan and what needs to be done to help our team win. "It was pretty reminiscent of previous year because it was nearly the same time in the game and hit an unbelievable shot". They scored 49 points in the first quarter of Game 4 [last year]. But Kevin Durant kept them from walking through it.

In January, they spent a night in a vehicle together driving around James' hometown in Akron talking about their lives and their careers and the lessons they learned in a feature for "Uninterrupted".
