He made clear the Palestinian issue was not a top priority for the Saudi government or Saudi public opinion and secondly he said that for Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries to normalise relations with Israel there will have to be significant progress on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

"In the last several decades the Palestinian leadership has missed one opportunity after the other and rejected all the peace proposals it was given".

"It is about time the Palestinians take the proposals and agree to come to the negotiations table or shut up and stop complaining". His remarks -which the king had to scramble to mitigate- suggest that Saudi Arabia's purported leadership of the Arab world will not include in its future course of action the protection of Palestine, the most grievous wound of the Arab world.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman reportedly has a message for Palestinian leadership: "agree to come to the negotiations table or shut up and stop complaining". "People literally fell off their chairs", the source said.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on his website that the "Americans are trying to put Saudis and some other regional countries before Iran".

Asked whether he had any "religious-based objection to the existence of Israel", Prince Salman answered, "We have religious concerns about the fate of the holy mosque in Jerusalem and about the rights of the Palestinian people". There are no problems between Christian and Muslims and Jews. Our prophet, his neighbors were Jewish. Tagging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the post, Trump thanked the Israeli people and declared the United States has "no better friends anywhere".

He went on: "They are both evil guys. But the normal sort of problems".
