Doctors: "Danny Farquhar 'progressing well" after surgery

The White Sox said in the statement that Danny was taken to Rush University Medical Center that called him now stable but in critical condition being closely monitored in the neurosurgical ICU unit. They left a quiet clubhouse to take batting practice and play catch, but players said their minds were on Farquhar.

White Sox team president Kenny Williams told USA Today that the 31-year-old Farquhar is in "the fight of his life" after he was rushed to the hospital on Friday night. We hope everything goes well, ' Shields said. Williams added that doctor's had to perform another surgery which consisted of opening his skull and placing a clamp inside. "This certainly shows the fragility of life and how we take every day for granted". And it can change in a heartbeat.

Danny's baseball career goes back a long way.

A team source said the White Sox are not releasing information on the treatment Farquhar is receiving at his family's request.

The team has fared poorly in its homestand against the Astros since Faquhar's collapse. But he's got three little kids, and they were his world.
