Jamie Carragher suspended from Sky Sports duties after spitting incident

13 March 2018

Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has apologised again for the "awful" spitting incident which led to his suspension by Sky Sports.

In retaliation, Carragher leans out of his window and spits towards the vehicle, spraying the 14-year-old girl.

'All I can do is apologise as much as I can, obviously I can't go back but hopefully the family can accept that.

"I knew there was someone else in the auto, and I knew it was a female, but I didn't know it was a young girl".

Carragher described his actions as a "moment of madness", adding: "I have no excuse and it's devastating for the family involved and my own family".

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher shamelessly spit at a young Manchester United fan and is now paying the price for his disgusting act.

Carragher said: "It was nearly an out of body thing, but you can't ever behave like that, it's unacceptable". "It was just that moment of madness for four or five seconds".

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to get Oreo update this month
Due to technical difficulties, Kuo expects Samsung to drop plans for putting an under-display fingerprint tech inside the Note 9. Rumors have been circulating for nearly a year that the Galaxy Note 9 would feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

"The biggest regret was that a young girl who wasn't involved was caught up in the incident".

"That devastates me more than anything".

"You just think, 'why did I react like that?' That's part of being a public figure at times. I was a role model, people looked up to me", he said.

"We all make mistakes in life and bigger ones than that I have made".

However, the incident made it onto the front pages of Monday morning's national newspapers, with Carragher suspended by his employers Sky Sports pending an investigation. He's massively passionate about football and he's overstepped the mark and shouldn't have reacted. "It falls well below the standards we expect of our people".

"I've been on TV for 3 years with him and this isolated incident shouldn't stop us working together".

Carragher already phoned to apologize to the girls parents, while his professional fate will be determined at a meeting with Sky bosses. But right now all I can do is come on here, apologise and try and get back to the person I know I am.
