Gas prices fall in Louisiana

Across the Great Lakes region, the average price per gallon is $2.47 in Wisconsin, $2.48 in IN, $2.49 in Minnesota, $2.54 in IL, $2.58 in MI, and $2.69 in NY. Gas prices has gone up 22.1 cents since a year ago and is down 4.6 cents since last month.

As more seasonal maintenance begins at US refineries over the next few weeks, utilization rates will decline and gasoline production will slip as well.

Oil prices remain volatile yet several dollars off recent highs.

According to Gasbuddy, states where prices moved most last week were: MI (up 7 cents); California, Indiana, and OH (up 4 cents); Kentucky and Florida (down 4 cents); and Georgia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Colorado (down 3 cents).

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state. But prices by Monday had fallen and over the noon hour the price of the best grade of US oil was down more than $1 to $60.93 cents.

Chattanooga gas prices have dropped by 12.2 cents per gallon in he past month and remain 30 cents a gallon below the US average of $2.51 per gallon. That compares to $2.30 one year ago.
