Wounded Palestinian Teen Cousin of Activist Released Following Arrest in West Bank

01 March 2018

Residents of the Nabi Saleh believe that the latest arrests are revenge against the Tamimi family for their activism and the wider village.

All of those arrested belong to the Tamimi family, linked to 17-year-old Ahed Tamimi, the Palestinian teen who is now in detention and awaiting her trial for slapping an Israeli soldier.

"״Israel arrested an injured, post-traumatic 15-year-old in the middle of the night and got him to lie out of fear of being sent to prison in his condition", their statement said.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Yoav Mordechai, revealed on Monday evening the truth behind the injury to Palestinian Arab teen Mohammed Tamimi last December.

He had been hit a day before the row between Ahed and the soldiers, which seems to have resulted in her emotional outburst against the soldiers. He was released upon interrogation by the police, the military confirmed. About an hour after Muhammad was shot, his cousin slapped an Israeli soldier in an incident caught on camera. "I could not keep quiet and I responded as I did".

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said in a statement that Israeli forces detained 10 members of the Tamimi family from the central occupied West Bank villages of Deir Nitham and Nabi Saleh.

Investor Warren Buffett says good deals tough to find
He admitted that the struggle in finding a "sensible purchase price" had "proved a barrier to virtually all deals" a year ago . On acquisitions, too-high prices were a barrier to almost all deals Berkshire looked at past year , says Buffett.

The family claims that Muhammad was shot in the head during that same riot and then underwent surgery, in which the rubber bullet and a portion of his skull were removed.

Another member of the extended Tamimi family in Nabi Saleh, Bilal, recorded video during the overnight raid on the village which showed the occupation forces spraying parts of the town with foul-smelling liquid meant to be used to disperse crowds. Many Palestinians see her as bravely standing up to military control over the West Bank, while Israelis accuse her family of using her as a pawn in staged provocations.

Citing an article in which Muhammad's father Fadel described how his son took a rubber bullet to the skull while witnessing December clashes with IDF soldiers, Mordechai blasted the Tamimi family as a group of con-artists.

As Haaretz reported, Ahed Tamimi's trial in an Israeli military court began last week with a decision by the judge to close it off from reporters and diplomats.

Ahed was arrested in the midnight from her house. A response from his family was also added, along with his medical records.
