SA and India set for tour finale on Saturday T20 clash

25 February 2018

India trounced South Africa in the first T20I, winning the contest by 28 runs.

With their backs against the wall, expect the Proteas to come out firing as they seek to avoid the ignominy of another home series defeat. South Africa defeated India by 6 wickets to level the series. On the other hand, South Africa have won three out of eight encounters.

A year ago they lost by five wickets against Sri Lanka while, dating all the way back to 2011, there have been two defeats to Australia while West Indies and Pakistan have also left Newlands with victories. He also left behind Ravindra Jadeja who had been hit for six sixes in a T20 game against Australia.

Victory in the previous game will also be a reason for buoyancy in the Proteas dressing room.

The Proteas bowling attack has so far been consistently unable to stop the Indian batting lineup from plundering them for runs.

They said: "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have made a decision to announce our separation". Theroux flew to LA from NY to spend the evening with Aniston, reported People magazine.

Duminy, who is captaining his country in the T20 series against India while Faf du Plessis recovers from a finger injury, said his bowlers didn't properly execute the short-ball strategy during the powerplay period of India's innings. Pandya gave away just 31 runs and also picked up the crucial wicket of David Miller. And it's very important that both could come with good performance in T20 series. Jasprit Bumrah's abdominal strain had forced India to make a change, but they will consider a couple spots for this finale. Bumrah's fitness still remains a question mark.

Lee was unbeaten on 58 as the rain stopped the play. The fact that there is a two-week gap before the tri-series begins in Sri Lanka might coerce them into this gamble. The team already clinched the ODI series and it was phenomenally done by the team. "I was happy if they had 60 or 70 after six overs if we at least had two or three wickets down", Duminy said. In 8 overs in 2 matches, he has given 75 runs at an economy of 9.78 and has taken only two wickets. During the course of the second T20I as well it was drizzling, but the umpires never took the players off the field as the heavens never opened up to the large extent. After all, a review in the very first ball of the innings had resulted in Dhawan's lbw being overturned. However, with Chahal's confidence hitting a bit low, Yadav could find himself in the reckoning.

Rohit is leading the run-scorers' list in India-South Africa T20Is with 330 runs from 10 matches.

Sadly, for the Men In Blue, it wasn't enough, and now with the series perfectly poised, the third T20I on Saturday will be victor takes all.

South Africa's T20I record at Wanderers is not great.
