The Gerber Baby photo contest has been going on since 2010, with a new victor chosen every year. The 2018 Gerber baby is here! This year, for the first time in the contest's history, the Gerber baby will be Lucas who is suffering from the Down syndrome.
The internet was rife with cooing adoration upon seeing and hearing of Lucas Warren's most recent accomplishment.
Lucas is the first child with down syndrome to take the title in the contest's 91-year history. As the Grand Prize victor, Lucas family will receive $50,000, he will be given the coveted title of 2018 Gerber Spokesbaby and take a front seat on Gerbers social media channels throughout the year. (The Gerber baby drawing goes back many more decades.) Within minutes, the engaging smile of the spunky new "spokesbaby" charmed the anchors and captured America's heart.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will also attend the ceremony, adding to seating complications for the hosts. The height, dark glasses and stance of South Korean soldiers are meant to intimidate the North.
His mother, Cortney Warren, entered the contest on a whim, NBC's "Today" reported.
"Every year, since the beginning of the Gerber Baby Photo Search, we choose the baby who exemplifies Gerber's longstanding heritage of recognizing that every baby is a Gerber baby, and Lucas is a ideal fit", admitted for CNN one of the Gerber's representatives, Kristen Wooten. His dad has been in the Georgia National Guard for six years helping fix helicopters, and his mom works part-time. This means that he will become the face of the company's social media channels for the next year. His mom, Cortney Warren, hopes this will increase acceptance of special-needs kids.
