Jobless rates fell in 24 US states, record lows in 5

Nationally, the unemployment rate for November was 4.1 percent.

The unemployment rates for Grand Island, Lincoln and Omaha have not been seasonally adjusted, so they can not be directly compared with the state unemployment rate.

Unemployment rates dropped in 20 states across the country and marked record lows in Alabama, California, Hawaii, Mississippi and Texas in November.

"The addition of 330,600 jobs over the year demonstrates the consistency with which employers in our state create job opportunities for the highly skilled Texas workforce", said TWC Chairman Andres Alcantar. Calaveras County's rate fell from 4.2-percent to 3.8 percent in November.

The Texas Workforce Commission on Friday reported that's the lowest monthly unemployment rate for the state in four decades.

The November rate also remained well below the USA rate, which was unchanged at 4.1 percent.

Total nonfarm employment in Tennessee grew by 1,800 jobs in November. Grand Island's preliminary rate rose a tenth of a point to 2.5 percent in November. Alaska and North Dakota shed jobs between October and November.
