Canada will start the tournament in Group A as it will play the Olympic athletes from Russian Federation on February 11.

Current senior Emily Clark and former Badgers Meaghan Mickelson, Ann-Renee Desbiens, Sarah Nurse and Blair Turnbull were named to Team Canada's Winter Olympics squad. "We haven't selected our team yet so you're still pushing for a job".

"Growing up, I didn't really have that female role model to look up to", she said.

She has won three silver medals at the World Championship (2015, 2016, 2017), while also winning back-to-back gold medals at the World Women's U18 Championship (2012, 2013).

"It would mean absolutely everything to me to play in the Olympics again", Mikkelson told the Gazette after Tuesday's 2-1 win over the St. Albert Tire Warehouse Raiders at Go Auto Arena.

Head coach Laura Schuler named three goaltenders, six defencemen and 14 forwards to the team that will attempt to defend gold in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Patrick Jiron was placed in York County Jail, but his wife Barbara was not due to a medical issue, USA Today reported. A Sheriff's Department in Nebraska was in for a surprise when they stopped an elderly couple for a traffic violation.

"I'm super excited", she said.

PyeongChang 2018 will mark the sixth time women's hockey has been part of the Olympic Winter Games. "I feel like I just gotta pinch myself, or something".

The Canadian Women's Olympic Hockey Team also features: 14 players who won the gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia; six players who won the gold medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C.; and one player who won the gold medal at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy.

"Canada's strong tradition of hockey talent is on display here, there is so much talent and depth on this team", said Isabelle Charest, PyeongChang 2018 Team Canada Chef de Mission.

"It brings definitely a lot of confidence".

Jenner says despite this being her second Olympic Games, the nerves were still there ahead of final cuts.
