Florida expected to hire Dan Mullen

28 November 2017

Mullen has also been linked to the Tennessee Volunteers head coaching vacancy to replace Butch Jones, so it looks like if he does opt to move on from Starkville he will remain in the SEC. Dan Mullen has been the catalyst of that success and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.

The Florida Gators officially hired Dan Mullen Sunday night, and the reported amount of his contract would make Mullen one of the highest paid coaches in the SEC.

The Florida offense has been beyond anemic, only scoring three offensive touchdowns against a Charles Kelly led FSU defense since 2014.

The Gators fired former coach Jim McElwain last month amid reports of a personality conflict with administrators.

He clearly overachieved at Mississippi State, which had lost at least eight games in seven of the eight seasons before Mullen's arrival. Stricklin noted the 45-year-old coach's success in tutoring quarterbacks such as Alex Smith, Chris Leak, Tim Tebow, Dak Prescott and Nick Fitzgerald, which bodes well for his chances of coaxing better play from Gators signal-callers.

Suspensions and injuries are partly to blame.

The locals found the body lying in pool of blood at Wothmula Nad area of Keegam, after which they informed the police. In September, militants killed 31-year-old BSF trooper Ramzan Parray outside his home in Bandipora.

Still, Florida remains one of the more attractive jobs in college football. "Our commitment will match the passion that the Gator Nation has for this program". Throw in being surrounded by some of the top recruiting strongholds in the country, and Florida seems poised for a quick fix.

So, that leads the Gators to Mullen, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.

Mullen has been with the Bulldogs for nine years and is 69-46.

Mullen worked with Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin when Stricklin had the same gig in Starkville, and the prestige of Florida's program dwarfs that of Mississippi State.
