In a press conference Tuesday in NY held by lawyer Gloria Allred, Mimi Haleyi claimed Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her in 2006. Weinstein then allegedly took her to a children's room where he overpowered her, removed her tampon and proceed to perform oral sex.
Haleyi, who was flanked by the women's rights attorney Gloria Allred on Tuesday as she described her encounter, worked in her 20s as a production assistant on a television show produced by the Weinstein Company.
Haleyi claims that she first met Weinstein at the European premiere of 'The Aviator, ' then bumped into him again in 2006 while she was at the Cannes Film Festival.
"The coverage of this story, and the many courageous voices that have spoken out, have helped survivors [of sexual abuse] feel that they are not alone", Jodi Omear told the Guardian in a report published Wednesday. She said she hasn't made any contact with Weinstein or his lawyers because she's trying to respect his therapy. She filed the first lawsuit against the company on Tuesday claiming negligence for knowing about Weinstein's sexual misdeeds dating back decades and failing to do anything about it.
He asked to perform oral sex on her and she refused, but he persisted and she "froze", allowing him to continue. She declined and left.
Allred is representing three accusers who have gone public with accusations against the co-founder of Miramax and The Weinstein Co. When he suggested they go to his room, she thought the meeting would continue.

Since May 2013 and till Zeenat "disappeared" in August 2015, the two women had interacted nearly on a daily basis on the phone. Soon after this, Zeenat had started receiving threat calls from unknown persons who told her not to pursue Ansari's case.
Weinstein "was a complete gentleman" during that follow-up meeting, she recalled. "So within those groups, definitely we shared our horror and just commitment to one another to do whatever we can to make sure that people are outed and that there is justice".
"Taking on a powerful guy like that is too much, it's too intimidating, so what we are seeing is a collective empowerment of women", Herman says.
If true, that would be a crime but Allred suggested it might fall outside the statute of limitations in NY. "I didn't think at that time that enough people were sharing their stories". Once there, however, Weinstein went to the bathroom and returned only in a bathrobe, Huett alleges.
Her story is strikingly similar to those of more than 50 women who have claimed they were sexually harassed or assaulted by the disgraced film producer.
Haleyi finally told Weinstein she wasn't interested in him romantically and that she had heard about his "terrible reputation with women".
