As per reports, the sting operation done by INDIA Today has brought the 2nd ODI between the Kewis and Team India to a standstill after Pune pitch curator Pandurang Salgaoncar was seen providing the intriguing details to bookies who were apparently "disguised as bookies".

Tight bowling and fifties from Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik helped India secure a series-levelling six-wickets victory against New Zealand in the second one-day global on Wednesday.

Earlier the President of the Maharashtra Cricket Association Abhay Apte also today said that the association will conduct a detailed inquiry into Pune curator Pandurang Salgaoncar's claims that he could tamper with the pitch.

The MCA has suspended Salgaonkar with immediate effect with the BCCI appointing curator Ramesh Mhamunkar as the point person for the centre wicket and the field of play for the second ODI between India and New Zealand.

This comes after reports emerged that Salgaoncar had agreed to "tamper" the pitch after some television reporters, posed as bookies, approached him.
