According to the British Sunday Mirror, newspaper, while Moreno-Ocampo has not denied the authenticity of the leaked emails, he claimed that he was the victim of a cyber hack, and that the information about the Jolie and Pitt plot to capture the notorious fugitive war criminal Kony has been reported "out of context".
The documents, which were shared by French investigative journal Mediapart with The Sunday Times, include a series of emails from Luis Moreno Ocampo, the ICC's chief prosecutor from 2003 to 2012; Jolie's assistant; and Jolie herself.
He hoped to plant Jolie, and her husband Brad Pitt, with United States special forces close to Kony's stronghold, according to leaked ICC documents.
Fighting between Kony's Lord's Resistance Army and the Ugandan Army broke out in the 1980s.
Jolie has spoken out against Kony before. But like Jolie, he did not have much success convincing the Hollywood stars.

At one point, Jolie wrote back saying: 'Brad is being supportive. "She is ready. Probably Brad [Pitt] will also go".
'Apparently you can be embedded with the special forces that are chasing Kony, ' Moreno Ocampo wrote in another email to Jolie in 2012.
It was thought that their presence would then draw Kony out of his armored compound and enable the U.S. forces to take him into custody. Moreno Ocampo finished his term at the ICC in 2012, the same year that Jolie publicly called for Kony's arrest.
Moreno Ocampo, who won just one ICC case in nine years, also reportedly recruited George Clooney and Sean Penn for other cases. "They are eager to get Kony, but after meeting you, they will do it", there was no further discussion of the plan, which appears to have never come to fruition. Can Brad go with you?'
In the wake of the leak, Ocampo claims that he is the victim of a "targeted cyber attack", as he's now being questioned over his alleged ties to Libyan businessman Hassan Tatanaki, who worked alongside former dictator Muammar Gaddafi. "I miss you", receiving no response from Jolie. Moreno Ocampo thought there was a chance that Jolie's presence would draw Kony into a vulnerable position, where special forces could capture him and bring him to trial for crimes against humanity.
