Outside of that woman sighted with Paddock, FBI agents spoke with Marilou Danley - the girlfriend that the shooter sent to Hong Kong and then her native Philippines prior to the attacks.

Investigators questioned her about Paddock's weapons purchases, a $100,000 wire transfer to a Philippine bank that appeared to be intended for her, and whether she saw any changes in his behaviour before she left the United States.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, who has called Danley a "person of interest" in the attack, said that "we anticipate some information from her shortly", and said he is "absolutely" confident authorities will find out what set off Paddock, a 64-year-old high-stakes gambler and retired accountant who killed himself before police stormed his 32nd-floor room.

Earlier Mr Sullivan said he felt "physically ill" to think that he had interacted with Paddock before he committed the Las Vegas shooting killing 59 people. An additional 19 guns were found in Paddock's home in Mesquite, Nevada.

\ Danley's Australia-based sisters say they believe Paddock sent her away so she wouldn't interfere with his plans.

The interview came in the midst of Danley's return to the U.S. She was met by federal agents when she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday night.

Ms. Danley was in the Philippines when the attack happened.

It was through his gambling that Paddock reportedly met Danley, when she was working as a hostess at a casino in Reno, Nevada, several years ago.

Eric Paddock said his brother did show a confrontational side at times: He apparently hated cigarette smoke so much that he carried around a cigar and blew smoke in people's faces when they lit up around him.

As for the investigation into the shooting, he said: "Yeah, they're learning a lot more". "It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone". Paddock bought 33 firearms, mostly rifles, during that period, an ATF spokesperson said.

The girlfriend of the Las Vegas gunman says she had no idea of the massacre he was plotting when he sent her on a trip overseas to see her family.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump on Wednesday paid tribute to the professionalism of the doctors who treated the Las Vegas shooting victims, saying that meeting with the patients at one hospital made him "proud to be an American".

They say their sister was "madly in love" with Paddock and will be forever haunted by what her partner has done. From the windows of his room, he shot at a crowd in a concert.

More than 500 people were injured in the rampage, some by gunfire, some during the chaotic escape.
