LG's new V30 smartphone is a video and audio powerhouse

Though surprisingly the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 isn't a weak device either, which comes with a 6.3-inch AMOLED Infinity Display, rear dual-cameras, and S-Pen stylus.

In terms of specs, the LG V30 sports a 6-inch Quad HD+ display (2880 x 1440) with 18:9 aspect ratio. This is the first smartphone from LG to offer a vivd, OLED FullVision display.

The G6 was a pleasure to hold, and the V30 is better still, as the new handset sports a much slimmer, lighter body - it's 5g lighter than its predecessor (158g) and 5mm thinner, (just 7.4mm) - all with the same brushed-metal finish that makes it look and feel premium in the hand. In comparison, the V30 has a slimmer camera module featuring 16-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors.

But that's where the similarity ends. The front has a 5-megapixel shooter, just like the V20 and G6.

When it comes to the design, there is no denying that the LG V30 is premium. The LG V30 is not just a capable smartphone in terms of performance with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM which provides an excellent platform for the preinstalled Android Nougat 7.1.2.

For the imaging, the LG V30 comes with a dual-lens rear camera combination in which, the primary camera has a F/1.6 aperture and this is the world's first smartphone to have that aperture size for its camera. We have not yet experienced the newly launched LG V30. It also features a microSD card slot that supports up to 2 TB microSD card. Also, LG V30 is rated as IP68.

LG V30 has the same 3300 mAh battery capacity but V30 has a more advanced processor to offer better battery life.

This is one reason why LG claims that the V30 is unlike other phablet devices: it will comfortably in one hand.

LG has also added some flagship-worthy features such as 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by Bang & Olufsen, earphones manufactured by B&O Play with three digital filters, and Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology for high-resolution audio streaming. On the front there is a 5MP wide angle camera with f/2.2 lens. Additionally, it features voice activation that allows users to lock the device and perform various actions.
