The 33-year-old Californian certainly stretched that limit on Tuesday when he ate 72 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes at the annual wiener-eating contest on New York's Coney Island.
Keeping with a popular holiday tradition, Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest crowned two new winners for 2017.
Chestnut, the reigning champion, devoured 72 hot dogs during the 10-minute race, breaking the previous record of 70 that he set past year. She ate 38 and a half hot dogs and buns to take the title a year ago.
