Authorities: Escaped Ga. inmates caught in Tenn

16 June 2017

According to Sills, evidence confirmed that Dubose and Rowe burglarized a residence near where they ditched the auto.

Nathan Deal said in a tweet that the fugitives were arrested following a vehicle chase in Tennessee. Deal said more details would be forthcoming. The officers who spotted the vehicle called in other units, and a pursuit of the suspects occurred on Interstate 24, with the vehicles exceeding 100 miles per hour.

Law enforcement officers saw that stolen vehicle and a chase ensued on Interstate 24 until the escapees crashed and ran from the wreck. They took his vehicle [a Honda Civic] and fled from the scene. There were no injuries reported.

Authorities are now conducting a nationwide search for Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said the escaped inmates had been inside a secured area of the bus.

"We need the eyes and ears really of anybody in this country to be on the lookout", Sills said Thursday. "We are looking for them anywhere they might be on planet Earth".

Two escaped inmates sought in the killings of two guards on a prison bus in Georgia were captured Thursday in Tennessee, authorities said.

Dubose and Rowe hijacked a Honda Civic that was recovered Wednesday afternoon in a wooded area off USA 441, not far from a burglary where the men changed out of their prison uniforms and ransacked a house.

Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy earns $55K for losing 3 pounds
To collect even more money on Monday , the Seahawks made things slightly more hard : Lacy had to weigh 250 pounds or less. Last season he weighed in at 234 pounds and rushed for a career-low 360 yards, after only appearing in five games.

The prisoners then carjacked a passing 2004 Honda Civic and headed east on Georgia Highway 16.

Authorities say the men overpowered the guards, killing them with their own weapons, before fleeing the bus near Eatonton, about 70 miles southeast of Atlanta early Tuesday.

According to CNN, Sills said the truck was ditched in Moore County in Tennessee and the two apparently stole a auto, which they drove to a house in Bedford County.

They have been cellmates a couple of times in Georgia's prisons, had known each other for "quite a while" and may have planned the escape together, Department of Corrections Assistant Commissioner Ricky Myrick said. Both escaped inmates were serving long sentences for armed robbery and other crimes. Those inmates have provided assistance to investigators, officials said.

Dubose, who was serving a 20-year prison sentence at the time of his escape, likely will not have an easy time hiding in a crowd: His neck is covered with hard-to-miss tattoos, with more ink drawings, in the shape of a crown, engraved over his eyebrows.

The escapees are wanted for the prison bus murders of two corrections officers: Sgt. Chris Monica and Sgt. Curtis Billue.

Monica had worked for the facility for almost eight years after being hired in October of 2009.
