Three-part Life is unusual prequel confirmed

Update: Before the Storm is being worked on by Deck Nine Games with original series developer DONTNOD Entertainment working on a sequel to the original. Beyond the Storm's first episode will be available on August 31 for Xbox One, PS4 & PC. The fifth and final episode in the game's first season released in October 2015.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is the prequel to Life is Strange, and it will launch August 31, publisher Square Enix announced today. Before the Storm is being made by Deck Nine Games, the Denver-area developer that was founded in 1997 as Idol Minds. "Due to the way in which the first game ended, we didn't want to canonize one group of players" choices over the other - a sentiment echoed strongly by our community.

"The original LIFE IS STRANGE brought a new level of depth and real-world emotion to the narrative adventure game genre and holds a strong place in many people's hearts, including our own", said Jeff Litchford, Vice President at Deck Nine Games. As noted in the trailer, the three-part prequel will focus on a younger Chloe and her friendship with Rachel before the events of the first game.

Besides, the model is also integrated with Intel HD Graphics 630, 2GB Radeon Pro 555 and four Thunderbolts 3 with touch bar. The firm also teased an upcoming upgrade to its iMac (above), which it is touting as the most powerful Mac "ever".

We'll have more details on this game in the months ahead - but, man, it's great to have Life Is Strange back.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm will serve as a prequel, similarly starring Chloe and Rachel.

In the trailer, Chloe is shown at several memorable locations from Life Is Strange including the junkyard, Blackwell Academy, the local train track and her poster-decorated room. Also, there's anarchist symbol in the game's logo.
