Guardiola wary of 'complicated' end to season

08 May 2017

PEP GUARDIOLA, Manchester City manager, pointing out the difference between his side and some of the most clinical teams in Europe.

The race for a top-four finish in the Premier League is heating up, and four teams are battling for two spots that will guarantee them a place in the Champions League next season. We can not give all the confidence he will be fit because of the experience of the last years.

Kompany said: "It's been frustrating but at the same time I have somehow kept improving and kept learning". "Next season we have to aim for the top half of the Premier League table".

"It is very hard to take what I saw today".

Second-half goals from Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nicolás Otamendi compounded their misery and left them on 38 points, four ahead of Hull in the final relegation place.

"We managed to bring (the gap) back to four points but after today, it's almost impossible, but we will give it everything for the last three games".

De Bruyne, who also grazed the bar with a free-kick, made it 3-0 with a low shot from the edge of the area that Wayne Hennessey got a hand to, but could not keep out. Obviously it was important to score the goal quickly, so we had a bit more freedom.

Democrats are pleased with the bipartisan deal; they've said so; and that's left Trump feeling bad about himself. Both Republican and Democratic House leaders - and the White House - claimed victory.

Although City can still mathematically catch second-placed Tottenham, this season will nearly certainly be the first in Guardiola's managerial career where he has not achieved at least a top-two finish.

De Bruyne now has five goals and 15 assist to his name in the Premier League this season, while also contributing to a couple of goals in the Champions League. And on Saturday we discovered maybe he can play as a striker.

They controlled possession while Palace, despite initially looking well-drilled defensively, offered little.

Allardyce's side have a six-point safety cushion but can still be caught by Hull City and Swansea City. We have two more games at home - one more than Liverpool.

"Our system did not cause us to concede today's first goal - our defender had to clear the ball and he didn't, and from it they scored".

Liverpool had the same number of shots as City when they drew at the Etihad Stadium in March but in City's other 33 league games under Guardiola, they have had more shots than the opposition.

Palace would have been pleased to make it into half time with only a one-goal deficit, but their hopes of stealing anything from the game took a major blow shortly after the interval as City made as quick a start to the second half as they had in the first.
