Ranaut's statement came after she recently launched the biggest poster of her upcoming movie "Manikarnika- The Queen of Jhansi", which happens to be a biopic on Ran Laxmibai.

Today, on 4 May SEL will perform live at the Dashashwamedh Ghat of Benaras to launch Kangana's first look poster of the film.

Kangana is also making her writing debut with the film "Simran".

"I agree that I am rebellious but she (Rani Laxmi Bai) was a rebel with a cause that makes her a hero.I rebel because if my instincts want me too".

She recalled how when KV Vijayendra Prasad had narrated the script to her, many a times she had burst into spontaneous applause or had wanted to whistle and at the end she had touched his feet and asked for his blessings.

Rani Laxmibai's presence in popular culture has been limited, except for filmmaker Sohrab Modi's 1953 film "Jhansi Ki Rani" and a TV series that aired between 2009-2011. So that makes me a badass. Kangana told reporters here. The makers of upcoming flick Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi went the traditional way for promotions.
