Ivanka Trump heads to Berlin for women's conference

Despite the frosty vibe of the photo op and the report that Trump presented Merkel with a bill for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation defense spending, the president told AP that he and the German leader got along famously.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel in her recent trip to Washington said there is bright side for future EU-U.S trade deal.

"Ten times Trump asked [German chancellor Angela Merkel] if he could negotiate a trade deal with Germany".

Merkel, speaking at the opening of the 70th annual Hannover Messe trade fair, said Germany was opposed to protectionism and trade barriers, and would continue to work for trade agreements like the one signed between the European Union and Canada.

Speaking to the Times of London, a senior German official documented the exchange between Merkel and Trump with mixed amounts of astonishment and humor.

"Yeah, it's amusing: One of the best chemistries I had was with Merkel", the president said during an interview with the Associated Press covering his first 100 days in office.

New Alleged Photos Of Moto X (2017) Leaked
Where is the new Moto X? Some earlier rumors do say that the storage space can be expanded further through microSD card slot. Now, new set of images have surfaced online which indicate that the Moto X 2017 will come in a 4GB of RAM variant as well.

Mr Ross stated he aims to reduce the US's $146billion trade deficit with Europe, which is second only to the US's $347billion one with China. All signatory states are obligated to do.

The pair's first meeting is perhaps best remembered for the US President's refusal to shake hands with the German leader during a White House press event.

The sudden about-face by the Trump administration with regard to the economic importance of the European Union over the United Kingdom mirrors the warnings issued by former US President Barack Obama that the United Kingdom would be shoved to the "back of the [trade] queue" if London went through with Brexit.

Sources told the Times of London that Trump asked Merkel 11 times if he could negotiate a trade deal between the USA and Germany before he finally understood that the deal had to be negotiated through the European Union and not its individual member countries.

Apparently in his talks with Merkel in March, President Trump did not realise he could not make a deal with Germany alone.
