YouTube Is Officially in the Live TV Game Now

YouTube TV will offer streams from various United States networks including CBS, Fox, NBC and ABC. YouTube TV - the company's big push into live television streaming - is now live in five U.S. cities. YouTube TV's content offering isn't drastically different to what you can get from Sling or AT&T's DirecTV Now, so YouTube is hoping that the simple pricing and its slick apps can be the difference. Sony previously tried that strategy with Vue, but altered course a year ago for its nationwide rollout. Google today launched their anticipated cable alternative called YouTube TV. Up to six people in a household can use a single YouTube TV subscription. The service is also available on the web, iOS, and Android.

But keep in mind that TV networks tend to demand that all their channels be bundled together. Paying the $35 monthly fee will also provide you with a cloud DVR with no storage limits, which means you'll be able to record as many shows as you want and at the same time. Ad revenue will also be used to support the creators of regular YouTube videos shown on the streaming service.
