In a new study, however, researchers found that the death rate of cervical cancer in the United States is considerably higher than previously thought. According to the Webmd, Dr. Ahmedin Jemal, vice president of surveillance and health services research at the American Cancer Society, said the their studies have found that people in areas where cancer deaths are higher than average suffer from a variety of problems that make these deaths more likely. More than 19 million people have died from cancer since then. Published on January 23 in the journal Cancer, this study is sobering for a lot of reasons; for one, the fact that black women are disproportionately affected can not be ignored. About 4,210 of those women will not survive their battle.

But high-risk HPV can cause cancer in the mouth and upper throat, cervical cancer in women and other cancers. Eating foods rich in beta-carotene, folic acid, Vitamins C and E and lycopene can help boost the immune system, which in turn is good for the well-being of the cervix.

The new research examined more than 19.5 million deaths in the USA, from 29 different types of cancer, over three and a half decades.

Boulay says its an important film because its estimated 85 percent of the female population has been exposed to HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer.

Among women who have this procedure and try to get pregnant afterward, about 70 percent are successful. "The test can detect changes in the cells of the cervix, which can be life-changing".

What's the best way to correct this disparity and prevent women from dying from cervical cancer? Cancerous cells develop erratically and if they accumulate, they form tumors. In Washington, the death rate is lowest in King County, and among the lowest in other more urban counties such as Snohomish, Pierce and Clark. Almost all cervical cancers are caused by HPV. As the world's leading organization of its kind, ASCO represents more than 40,000 oncology professionals who care for people living with cancer. If you do have symptoms, the most common is unusual vaginal bleeding, which can occur after sex, in between periods or after the menopause.

The Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices recommends vaccinating boys and girls ages 11 to 12 years old for HPV. "It still has a stigma". The HPV vaccine is available at DOH-Seminole for children up to age 18 and adults through age 26 by appointment.
