North Korean officials hold secret talks in Malaysia

The North's mission to the United Nations issued a similar statement that was distributed by North Korean state media on Monday.

In July, N. Korea cut off its only remaining official channel of diplomatic communications with the USA in retaliation for American sanctions against its leader, Kim Jong-Un.

Leon Sigal, an academic specialising in the Koreas who attended the talks, said the N. Korea's nuclear weapons programme had dominated the discussion.

The Oct 21 to Oct 22 gathering brought North Korea's Vice-Foreign Minister Han Song Ryol together with a delegation of former United States nuclear negotiators. The US side said the move to scrap the nuclear programme had to come first. It is not known whether the Chinese delegation will mark the anniversary together with the North Koreans.

The two militaries said, it was eighth attempt in a seventh month by the North Korea to launch missile test with range of 3,000 km (1,800 miles).

The trading company in the city of Dandong, Liaonang province, along China's northeastern border with North Korea, was suspected of supporting Pyongyang's development of nuclear arms.

Cubs could get Schwarber back if they reach World Series
Many have been drawing obvious parallels to Kirk Gibson's 1988 World Series Game 1 walk-off home run, as Gibson too was injured. The Cubs have risen to the challenge of winning on the road and won two games in a row at Dodger Stadium.

China is North Korea's main ally but is angered by Pyongyang's nuclear and ballistic missile tests.

He said the U.S. is open to talks with the North, but said Pyongyang should prove it's serious about denuclearisation.

The China-based registrant could still be charged with smuggling the phone into North Korea or engaging in other illegal activity if caught, the source said.

"Parties involved all understand the urgency to solve the nuclear problem, otherwise it will get out of hand".

The plan is similar to that recently adopted by the U.S., which chose to investigate several Chinese companies operating in border regions with North Korea after it sanctioned a firm in the northeast province of Liaoning for allegedly helping to finance Pyongyang's nuclear programme.

He continued, "China has maintained a consistent position that it will strictly implement UN Security Council Resolution 2270 and after North Korea's fifth nuclear test it said it will be active in the discussions over a new Security Council resolution".
