Chiefs ship Knile Davis to Green Bay

21 October 2016

For the Bears, Jordan Howard has clearly locked up the No. 1 job and is startable in just about every format out there.

The Davis deal was the start of a slew of roster moves on Tuesday for Kansas City.

The Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football in Week 7, and we will see an intriguing change at the running back position.

The Chiefs traded backup running back Knile Davis to the Packers, who desperately need to add depth to their injury-riddled backfield, on Tuesday.

"I feel like I'm off the reins", Davis said about joining the Packers.

It is how it's supposed to work when the Packers (3-2) are clicking.

The Packers won't be getting Eddie Lacy back any time soon.

Lacy is now dealing with an ankle injury that could keep him out for several weeks. Green Bay was doing just fine with the two backs on its roster, Eddie Lacy and James Starks, until both suffered serious injuries at the same time. I've been itching to get in the game, be a part of the team which I was in Kansas City. On a short week with less preparation, don't expect the Packers offense to figure it out quite yet.

Packers: Report says Green Bay acquires running back Knile Davis from Chiefs
He has played in four games this season, carrying the ball once for a loss of two yards and catching two passes for 14 yards. Lacy ran as well as he could on Sunday, but even 17 carries is asking a lot of a running back with an ankle sprain.

But the yardage hasn't led to a lot of points.

Brian Hoyer will be featuring at quarterback again for the Bears.

If Sitton sits as expected, it will be the first time that the Bears' offensive line is without a starter this season. Rodgers has been bad the past two weeks and needs to start playing better or the packers are in big trouble.

The Bears lost to Indianapolis on a late touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to T.Y. Hilton. The Bears won that game 17-13. He also examined tight end Jared Cook, who missed much of the offseason with a foot injury and is now sidelined with a high-ankle sprain.

The team also announced that Sam Shields (concussion) has been placed on injured reserve. Cornerback Demarious Randall left last Sunday's game with a groin injury.

Seeing that the Bears rank seventh in the National Football League in total yards and 31st in scoring, it doesn't take a Master's degree in analytics to figure out what's ailing their offense. "We've just got to get back to being who we are and taking care of the fundamentals and taking care of the easy stuff, and we'll get back to where we were". We've got to execute better. As 4th favorites in ante-post Super Bowl markets (ie. bet365 11/1) I think they could be called over-rated.
