Pep: Hart may feature against Steaua

25 August 2016

Barcelona, seven to 10 days ago, were the first ones to announce contact with Manchester City.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart reacts after the UEFA Champions League quarter final first leg soccer match between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City FC at the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris, France, 06 April 2016.

Those plans have already seen goalkeeper Joe Hart dropped to the bench, with Willy Caballero preferred and speculation mounting that the England global could seek a move away from Etihad Stadium.

Speaking earlier Tuesday at a news conference ahead of City's match against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League playoffs, City manager Pep Guardiola said "I can not deny what everybody knows".

"I can not deny what everyone knows", said the former Barca boss.

"But, I'm sorry, when the deal is complete or not complete, after I will be open to answer".

City go into the second leg holding a commanding 5-0 lead over Steaua.

Russian Federation says future use of Iran air base depends on Syria circumstances
Iran is in alliance with Russian Federation in its battle against terrorism in Syria, Larijani was quoted as saying. State Department said on August 22 that it was not clear whether Russia's use of the base had actually stopped.

In a recent interview with BBC, the English team manager Sam Allardyce maintained that while Joe Hart will be his preferred No.1 for the World Cup qualifier against Slovakia, the manager is deeply concerned about the 29-year-old goalkeeper's play time.

"In terms of long-term injuries, Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan have little problems", Guardiola told reporters. "After [the deadline] we will speak about everything". I am learning from him as well, it's not any pressure for me to play. "We were clear, him with me and I with him and we spoke about our football".

"I work with them like there is no end".

"Sergio is a great striker and I'm learning from him".

As we have covered extensively the last few weeks, Joe Hart has one foot out the door at Manchester City. But Bravo is the ideal type of goalkeeper for Pep Guardiola's system so the likelihood that Hart would receive any substantial minutes, barring injury, is low.

Guardiola, though, said he would not comment on the signing until it was officially completed.

The Argentinian scored twice in City's 4-1 win against Stoke City last Saturday to take his season's tally to six goals in all competitions. Whenever I get my chance, I will do my best for the team. That is why I insist with the players how important this process is. We've had a busy start to the season with the European games so we feel ready to go into it. "I was pretty sure we would be able to do that".
