Schultz has already been removed from any role at this week's Democratic National Convention following the leak of DNC emails revealing party higher-ups disparaging and actively working against Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign.
The switch came after more than 19,000 emails published through WikiLeaks depicted the Democratic Party of trying to sabotage Bernie Sanders' candidacy.
Hackers this week also posted thousands of emails from party staff members, some of which showed DNC staffers criticizing the Sanders campaign and questioning his faith.
But whereas the plan was to have Wasserman Schultz open the proceedings and speak briefly at the start of the convention Monday afternoon, the plan is now to only have her briefly open the convention and then hand things over to Fudge, party sources said.
"I think, as I have said a long time ago, that the time is now for Debbie Wasserman Shultz to step aside, not only for these issues", he said.
Castro powers Yankees past Orioles in 7-1 win 1
The Houston native last faced the Orioles on June 3 and coughed up five runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings in a 6-5 loss. Marlins 2, Phillies 1, 10 inn.: Christian Yelich homered and drove in the winning run with a single in the 10th inning.
"It goes without saying the function of the DNC is to represent all of the candidates to be fair and even-minded", Sanders said on Sunday.
"Her critical role in supporting our economic recovery, our fights for social and civil justice and providing health care for all Americans will be a hallmark of her tenure as Party Chair", Obama continued.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been ousted as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee on the eve of the party's convention, following a chairmanship marked by controversy that was pushed to bring by revelations from leaked internal emails.
Wasserman Schultz has had a stormy tenure as head of the DNC, and has taken fire throughout the presidential primaries from supporters of New Hampshire Sen.
It's become a bit easier for Hillary Clinton to formally claim the nomination at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. "It proves our point that they've tried to marginalize him and make it as hard as possible". We have to elect Hillary Clinton.
"You could see a very relieved Hillary Clinton in the fact that she thinks she got the choice right", Hafner said. He also believes that DNC was "at opposition to our campaign" all along, he said in interviews with CNN and other news outlets Sunday morning.
